In the red corner, fighting out of New York City, by way of the House of Reps, then the MSNBC academy; Joe “Big Country” Scarborough.  And in the blue corner, fighting out of the Peach State; also by way of the House of Reps, and recently Fox News punditry; Newt “The Speaker” Gingrich.

Now touch gloves, and come out fighting!!

Always interested in breaking down the dueling political dichotomies, I recently stumbled onto an old article from Life Science entitled, Conservatives Happier Than Liberals”.  Having spent a lot of time reading the left, even I was surprised at the blatant bias and backward reasoning the article attempted.  (more…)

Pat Buchanan has a long list of political accolades.  As a former adviser to multiple Republican Presidents he has years of experience on Television as well as Radio.  Currently a regular on MSNBC and syndicated columnist, Buchanan is as experienced politically as anyone and is an influential voice in today’s body politic.  I often read his columns on townhall.com with an appreciation for his experience and willingness to say what he believes.  Unfortunately today I wanted to highlight two of his recent columns as I believe his logic and tone do nothing to advance the debate on two touchy subjects.   Until we can get clearer thinking regarding Race and Radical Islam, our collective relations with both will continue to be hampered. I wonder what it feels like to be the most hated man in America? And no, Im not talking about Tiger Woods. In the political world no one is more hated right now than Joe Lieberman.  A decade removed from being his party’s nominee for Vice President of the United States, he is now being viewed as the single opponent preventing the passing of a strong, progressive Health Care Reform Bill.  Although there are several other moderate Democrat senators that have not confirmed they would vote for the current Senate bill, Sen. Lieberman has become an easy target and enemy #1.  Is Joe a vindictive opportunist or a senator sticking with his convictions and constituency?  (more…)

As some commentators on the Left look to defend the Nobel Peace Prize given to Obama on Friday morning, others are not so quick to acknowledge the President deserved it…including the President.

In the above video from yesterday’s Rachel Maddow Show, Ms. Maddow tries desperately (and smugly) to explain why Obama deserved the prestigious honor.  She lists a few previous winners that were given the award prior to completing their life goal of peace.  However, she overlooks the fact that the award was bestowed upon the likes of Desmond Tutu and Jimmy Carter after DECADES of charitable work.  Between her predictable slaps at former President Bush, she tries to explain from the year prior to the nomination what Obama did to deserve the award.  All examples other than the not complete order to close Guantanamo Bay were given in debates or speeches. Nothing of achievement; no actions to follow-up on his soaring peace mission rhetoric.

Maddow and the like are shamefully trying to spin the debate into being about American pride, rather than acknowledging the extreme bias that does not allow us to fairly debate the merits of our President.  I understand why, it’s much easier from her point of view to make the debate about hating America.  But while Maddow wishes to call those pointing out the absurdity of the award as “deranged” – one person agrees with the sentiment this was too soon.  Following the jump, read the letter e-mailed to Obama supporters after the Nobel Prize announcement:  (more…)
