Arizona Illegal Immigration Ruckus

With a little help from today’s news, Bill O’reilly and his recurring guest Bernard Goldberg have finally convinced me. I now agree with them that the media is not just biased in opinion, but is corrupt in their tactics and means they will use to push their agenda. If you’ve ever questioned the leanings and power of a “covertly” slanted media, look no further than the past week and a half. The hubbub over the Arizona Illegal Immigration law points to a trend that should frighten even the leftist of left-wingers. I believe the media, working in possible collusion with open-borders proponents and morally confused liberals have engaged in a campaign to blatantly distort, discredit and outright lie about the new Arizona law.

Sounds About Right....

Straightforward eloquence is not a virtue we have been subjected to lately. Disillusionment seems to reign the day as cognitive dissonance and a near universal lack of objectivity has permeated even our most trustworthy sources of news and information.  Although hyperbole and self-aggrandizement are nothing new, their effectiveness and usage rates seem to be increasing exponentially.  In short, activists, commentators, journalists, professors, and even pastors have played a part in Stealing Language.     (more…)

Pat Buchanan has a long list of political accolades.  As a former adviser to multiple Republican Presidents he has years of experience on Television as well as Radio.  Currently a regular on MSNBC and syndicated columnist, Buchanan is as experienced politically as anyone and is an influential voice in today’s body politic.  I often read his columns on townhall.com with an appreciation for his experience and willingness to say what he believes.  Unfortunately today I wanted to highlight two of his recent columns as I believe his logic and tone do nothing to advance the debate on two touchy subjects.   Until we can get clearer thinking regarding Race and Radical Islam, our collective relations with both will continue to be hampered.
