Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling reversing the McCain-Feingold federal campaign-finance law is a victory for special interest groups and a bigger win for free speech in the United States. The 5-4 decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission will stop the government from regulating political speech of corporations.

President Obama quickly responded with a statement claiming, “It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans” Mr. President, we already felt that way, except you can add unions and bureaucracies to that list. On the eve of Obamacare dying, it also amused me that he says “I am instructing my Administration to get to work immediately with Congress on this issue.” (more…)

I started watching his show the O’Reilly Factor about 8 years ago. At the time I was looking for answers to help justify my position politically while constantly being bombarded with a liberal outlook from my teachers at school. I remember having daily debates on whether we should even retaliate against Al Qaeda. What I found listening to Bill’s Radio Factor and watching his TV shows was a bold and independent thinker taking on all the toughest issues. I was drawn to his level-headed conclusions and appreciated how he always had in mind the best interest of the “folks”. (more…)

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t — that is how President Obama must feel awaiting tonight’s speech at West Point where he will announce an additional 30,000 troops will be sent to fight in Afghanistan.  In one corner, he has his so-called supporters – those that voted for him thinking he was the peace-nik, anti-war President they always dreamed of. In the other corner, are his detractors – people who do not like this President and will rally against him if he doesn’t agree with the full orders of his Generals.  And somewhere in between all of that mess is reality. Palin's Controversial Newsweek Cover

Everyone is an exaggeration, but at times it sure does feel like the world hates Sarah Palin. In reality, her political presence is no more than any commentator, politician, or newsmaker. However, the mainstream media likes to make mega-stars and they’ve found a contender in Palin. Popular websites have entire pages dedicated to their bloggers items taking her to task. But its not just Palin, its many conservative women. Last week, Carrie Prejean was the enemy du jour. Initially marked with a scarlet letter for responding to a pageant question with her honest feelings about marriage, every mis-step this 22-year old woman now makes is another reason for liberals to openly mock her. Its no wonder many are asking why all the hatred and sexism towards these conservative women? (more…)
