roman-polanski-in-wing-collarOver the weekend, Academy Award winning director Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland with plans to extradite back to the United States. Polanski has been on the lam for 32 years after pleading guilty to raping a 13 year old girl.  Despite the reprehensible act, he has remained a hero to many in liberal Hollywood – even as late as 2002, he was given the Best Director Oscar for his film The Pianist.  France has refused to give Polanski to America and given him a safe haven, not surprisingly they have reacted angrily to what the Swiss have done.  It’s shocking and damn sickening to review the facts of the case and then read the opinions on many mainstream liberal websites. Moral Clarity

Last week began an important meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In front of the entire world, heads of state were able to loquaciously discuss a broad range of topics including the world economy, climate change, and disarmament strategies. Many say these meetings are nothing better than an opportunity for any nation, no matter how small to grandstand and ramble in whatever direction they so choose. I believe these meetings serve a much greater purpose. Not only did President Obama explain in his own words what leftist ideology is, (more…)

Capitol Building - NightIt’s that time of the month when pollsters begin releasing their latest surveys into the national psyche of current events and hot topics.  For the most part, the latest numbers are not too surprising.  Obama is still rating favorably (51%).  Americans are still skeptical of health care reform (39% For; 41% Against).  But there were a few interesting items reported. Foremost, 80% of Americans say they are satisfied with their health care. But that’s not even the most shocking part of that high statistic. (more…)

Jimmy Carter meets exiled Hamas leader in 2008

About a month ago, my conservative bro MacGregor posted a piece dissecting Democrats playing the race card in order to win the Health Care debate.  This week, that opinion has become more prominent based on a few national news articles and interviews.  Generally, the conservative media believes the use of racism by the left is mostly a tactic to distract from the sagging support for the Health Care reform bill.  However, we see it less as a gimmick and more as a glimpse into the psyche of the liberal thought process.  Those promoting the racial aspects of dissent see the world through a different prism then the majority of Americans.  This world is defined by race, gender, and class before morals, integrity, and facts.  So does the re-institution of this argument help the Left in anyway?
